Non–monotonous crossover between capillary condensation and interface localisation/delocalisation transition in binary poly- mer blends
– Within self–consistent field theory we study the phase behaviour of a symmetric binary AB polymer blend confined into a thin film. The film surfaces interact with the monomers via short range potentials. One surface attracts the A component and the corresponding semi–infinite system exhibits a first order wetting transition. The surface interaction of the opposite surface is varied as to stud...
متن کاملComputing counterion densities at intermediate coupling.
By decomposing the Coulomb interaction into a long-distance component appropriate for mean-field theory, and a non-mean-field short distance component, we compute the counterion density near a charged surface for all values of the counterion coupling parameter. A modified strong-coupling expansion that is manifestly finite at all coupling strengths is used to treat the short-distance component....
متن کاملDelocalisation transition in chains with correlated disorder
We show that in the one-dimensional (1D) Anderson model long-range correlations within the sequence of on-site potentials may lead to a region of extended states in the vicinity of the band centre, i.e., to a correlation-induced insulator-metal transition. Thus, although still disordered, the 1D system can behave as a conductor.
متن کاملDelocalisation transition in quasi - 1 D models with correlated disorder
We introduce a new approach to analyse the global structure of electronic states in quasi-1D models in terms of the dynamics of a system of parametric oscillators with time-dependent stochastic couplings. We thus extend to quasi-1D models the method previously applied to 1D disordered models. Using this approach, we show that a “delocalisation transition” can occur in quasi-1D models with weak ...
متن کاملElectron Beam at Intermediate Pumping Rates
XeF( C --* A ) laser radiation has been produced in a fivecomponent gas mixture excited by a coaxial electron beam with an intermediate pulse length ( 175 ns) and pumping rate ( 1 MW/cm'). The laser output energy was 215 mJ from an active volume of 157 cm3 (1.4 J / L ) at a total gas pressure of 8 bar corresponding to an intrinsic
